Paper, Paint & Pixels Exhibition

In September I am participating in a group exhibition - how exciting! There is 8 of us creative sorts which will be showcasing a mixture of photography, digital art, watercolour, acrylic, collage, pen, pencil and ink illustrations and art pieces.
I am personally aiming for about 18 pieces which I should be doing now rather than blogging haha! I am doing Inky Houses (surprise, surprise) but thought it was best showcased what I enjoy doing. Creating art is all about doing what you love right. Stay tuned for more details for our  'Paper, paint & Pixels' exhibition in upcoming posts!

Above are a couple of pieces I have been working on.

Audrey The Awesome!

Saying that I love artist Audrey Kawasaki would be a total understatement. I thought I would pay a tiny tribute to her amazing work. Here are 3 prints I am lucky enough to own. To view more of her amazing work click here.

Booktopia

On Friday I came home to find an exciting, big package. The books I had ordered on Amazon had arrived! Included was 'Print & Pattern' by Bowie Style, 'Illusive: Contemporary Illustration and Its Context' by Hendrik Hellige, 'Illusive: Contemporary Illustration Part 3' by R. Klanten. I am still waiting for 'Illusive 2: Contemporary Illustration and Its Context' by  R. Klanten to arrive. Our studio at work purchased these books and I loved them so much I had to have them for myself! All of them are jammed packed from cover to back with drool worthy illustrations and designs. I highly recommend all of them.

My Neglected Etsy

The last 12 months have been pretty busy and my Etsy shop has been sadly neglected.  I have been in "vacation mode" for the last year and unfortunately not due to some long, exotic holiday.  I do hope to get right back into it and I have a few projects in the pipeline. But for now I will leave you with a few of the illustrations that were sold in my shop.

Mmmm....pie

Today is day one. Yes, I have decided to stick my finger in the global design pie. I have had so much joy and inspiration from the many blogs out there, why not join the fun and take you on a blogging journey of what creatively inspires me!
As there is so much to share, I might just start with a little purchase I made today. I have had my eye on this gorgeous Portabellopixie sewing pattern by  Sandi Henderson for a while and now it's mine. You can visit her lovely website which also includes fabrics, free projects and a sewing school here.
